Thiru P. Sivanandham is a distinguished Industrialist, philanthropist, and visionary leader who plays a vital role in strengthening and advancing the growth of educational institutions in the steel city of Salem. As the Chairman of Vysya College, Salem, he has been instrumental in promoting quality education and expanding opportunities for students from both rural and urban backgrounds.Under his able leadership, the institutions functioning under the Vasavi Vidya Trust have witnessed remarkable development and academic excellence. His commitment to educational progress has contributed significantly to the growth of several institutions such as Vysya College, Vysya College of Education (B.Ed), and the Vasavi Vidya Trust Group of Institutions.
Thiru P. Sivanandham firmly believes that education is the most powerful tool for social transformation. His vision is reflected in the continuous development of academic programmes, infrastructure, and student support systems in the institutions under his leadership. Thiru P. Sivanandham’s leadership is characterized by dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to the cause of education. His efforts continue to inspire faculty, students, and the academic community. Today, his vision and guidance serve as a strong foundation for the continued growth and excellence of educational institutions in and around Salem.
The prime motto of Vasavi Vidya Trust is to serve the cause of education, help the aged and construct hospital to serve the poor. One of our aims is to generate and disseminate knowledge with discipline and to become a globally recognized centre of excellence in the field of Higher Education and Research. For this motto, our institution was initiated in the year 1990 by Vasavi Vidya Trust which was formed in the year 1989. This trust enhances the help for the needy people up to now.
Vysya College is the first self-financing Co-educational institution in and around Salem, Dharmapuri and Namakkal districts. Till 1997, it was affiliated to Madras University and from the academic year 1997 it has been affiliated to Periyar University, Salem. It offers 14 UG programmes, 9 PG programmes with state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities. The college has reached its pinnacle by getting accredited with the prestigious “A” Grade by the NAAC in the year 2004(Cycle 1). As a proof of the quality service, the college has been Re-accredited with 'A' Grade by NAAC in the year 2011(Cycle 2), and again Re-accredited with 'A' Grade by NAAC in the year 2016(Cycle 3). In the year 2022 the institution has been Re-accredited with 'B++' Grade by NAAC (Cycle 4).
Vasavi Vidya Trust extended its service in the field of Higher education by offering B.Ed programme (Affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai) in the name of 'Vysya College of Education' from the academic year 2007-2008. In addition to that, our college includes MBA and MCA programmes.
We have completed 36 years and stepped into the 37th year of service in the field of higher education with the endeavour, dedication, hard work and sincerity.
After the completion of his /her graduation, we trust that we send a confident and well-rounded personality into the competitive world to take on life's challenges as the long and interesting road ahead to travel.
Students need not to be born with greatness, but they can be made great. You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
